1. Our promise

The Secret Level, run by Krenstin Resources, collects only the data needed to run the service: your account, your reading progress, your coins and purchases, and anything you choose to post in the community. This page summarises exactly what that means and how you stay in control. The full legal detail lives in our Privacy Notice.

2. Data we collect

  • Account: your email address, display name, and authentication credentials.
  • Reading activity: stories opened, episodes read, choices made, saved progress, library, ratings, and wishlist.
  • Coins & purchases: your coin balance and history, membership tier, and unlock records.
  • Community: comments and reactions you post on stories.
  • Writer tools (if you publish): drafts you submit, AI writing credits, and earnings records.
  • Technical: IP address, browser/device type, and timestamps needed for security and to keep the service working.

3. What we never do

  • We never sell your personal data to anyone.
  • We never store your payment card details — payments are handled entirely by our Merchant of Record, Paddle.
  • We never share your reading history or community posts with advertisers.
  • We never require your real name — a display name of your choosing is enough.

4. Who we share data with

Only the providers needed to run the Service: our hosting and database provider, the AI providers that power on-demand story translations and optional writer tools, and Paddle for payments, tax compliance, and subscription management. We share data with authorities only where the law requires it. Full details are in the Privacy Notice.

5. How we protect your data

Data is encrypted in transit, stored in a managed cloud database with row-level security so you can only ever read and change your own data, and payments are processed over verified, server-signed checkout flows. Access to production data is restricted and reviewed regularly.

6. How long we keep data

We keep your data while your account is active so your progress, coins, and posts are there when you return. If you delete your account, everything listed in section 2 is erased. Paddle keeps its own transaction records where tax law requires it; those records sit with Paddle, not us.

7. Delete your account and data

You can delete your account and all of your data yourself, right now, without emailing anyone:

  1. Open My Account from the menu (sign in first if you're asked to).
  2. Scroll to the Danger zone at the bottom.
  3. Tap Delete account and confirm.

That single action erases your profile, reading history, progress, coins, ratings, wishlist, community posts and reactions, alert subscriptions, referral records, and writer-tool data. If you have an active paid membership, cancel it first via Manage billing on the same page so Paddle stops charging you. Prefer a human? Contact us through the support channels listed on the Service and we'll delete everything for you within one month.

8. Other controls

  • Email alerts: every alert email carries an unsubscribe link, and you can remove alert preferences from your account settings.
  • Community posts: you can delete your own comments at any time; deleting your account removes them all.
  • Access & export: everything we hold about you is visible in My Account; email us for a portable copy.

9. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Writers & authors

If you publish with us, these extra rules apply to your data, and you accept them as part of the privacy agreement when you create your account:

  • You keep ownership of your stories; we only license them to show, translate, and promote on the site.
  • Your pen name, profile, titles and covers are public. Your email, earnings and payout details are never public.
  • AI writing tools only run when you ask them to, and your drafts are never used to train AI models.
  • Reader statistics you see are aggregated — you never receive readers' emails or personal details.
  • Payout and tax details are shared only with our payment partners where the law requires it.
  • Deleting your account removes your drafts, writer records, and AI credit history; published stories are unpublished on request.
